ZE:A’s Kwanghee updates fans that he’s returning from the jungle soon

Idol group ZE:A‘s Kwanghee updated his fans with a photo of himself from “the jungle”.

On March 30th, Kwanghee wrote on Twitter, “My summer has already begun. My mission at the jungle is complete! But my face is sunburned. I’m sorry, makeup artist. I’ll see you all in Korea!”

The photo was apparently taken after the recording of SBS‘s ‘Kim Byung Man’s Jungle Law 2‘. Kwanghee is seen posing for the camera at the beach while munching on a slice of pizza. It seems the star’s sunburn was quite bad as his face is a bright red.

Fans commented, “It must have been difficult at the jungle again. You’re amazing,” “We miss you!” “You must have had a hard time,” and “You look so happy.”

JYJ’s Yoochun talks about his role in ‘Rooftop Prince’

JYJ‘s Park Yoochun recently sat down to talk about his character in his new SBS drama, ‘Rooftop Prince‘.

On March 30th, he spoke to C-JeS Entertainment, stating, “When I’m at the drama film set, I don’t really have the time to check the reactions so it’s hard to get a feel of how my character’s being received. Everyone at the company told me that I received a good response so I felt really great about that.”

He continued, “There’s a bit of pressure in having to live up to expectations, but I want to pay back the support I’m receiving by focusing on my acting with each new episode, and presenting good skills.”

Yoochun plays the role of Lee Gak, a charismatic young man with a soft heart when it comes to love. After losing his wife the Princess, he wakes up 300 years later in 21st century Seoul. He stated, “Lee Gak is in a very sad predicament right now. He’s in a really big crisis, so I hope that everyone will understand and support the prince!”

A representative of the drama also expressed, “The character is a bit detached from reality so that was one of our main concerns. Fortunately, Park Yoochun’s natural acting skills has helped viewers focus on Lee Gak’s situation at hand.”

The drama is off to a great start, and Yoochun’s character is already melting the hearts of everyone from elementary school students to those in their 40s and 50s!

‘The King 2 Hearts’, ‘Rooftop Prince’, and ‘The Equator Man’ battle it out for viewer ratin gs

There seems to be a change happening on what will be the top drama on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

If we follow the statistics given by the AGB Neielson Media Research group, on March 28th, the ratings for MBC’s ‘The King 2 Hearts‘, SBS’s ‘Rooftop Prince’ and KBS2′s ‘The Equator Man‘ was 14.5%, 11.2% and 8.1% respectively.

On March 22nd, ‘The King 2 Hearts’ recorded a viewer ranking of 16.5% meaning it dropped 2% this week. ‘Rooftop Prince’ was at 10.5% last week meaning it saw a rise of .7%, and ‘The Equator Man’ had very similar numbers from last week.

There was not much change in viewers for both ‘Rooftop Prince’ and ‘The Equator Man’, but there was a significant drop for ‘The King 2 Hearts.’ ‘The King 2 Hearts’ is still number one in the time slot but ‘Rooftop Prince’ had steady viewer growth through its first three episodes from 9.8% to 10.5% and finally to 11.2%, leaving it just 3.3% out of first place.

With so many great choices for drama these days, it is no wonder that all have similar numbers. We’ll have to keep an eye on how the ratings will change with the progression of the shows.

‘K-Pop Star’ releases its 2nd digital single ‘K- Pop Star Special No.2′

SBS‘ ‘K-Pop Star‘ recently released the second part of its digital single, ‘K-Pop Star Special No.2‘. Lee Ha Yi, Park Ji Min, and the Superals were featured in the album, which hit music sites on March 28th KST.

Back on March 21st, ‘K-Pop Star’ released its first single, which included Lee Ha Yi’s cover of Im Jae Bum‘s “For You” and Yoon Hyun Sang‘s self-composed song, “Farewell“.

One of the songs on the newly released digital single is Lee Ha Yi’s rendition of “Mercy“. With over 3 million views on Daum Media Player, her cover of “Mercy” has drawn hot response from netizens and has also brought in new fans. Lee Ha Yi performed the song during the battle audition of ‘K-Pop Star’ and with this song, she surpassed her rival, Park Ji Min, and safely moved onto the live broadcast.

On the other hand, Park Ji Min has also received an explosive amount of interest after her audition cover of “Rolling in the Deep“. Her cover of the song will also be included on the 2nd single.

Lastly, ‘K-Pop Star’ included Superals’ powerful performance of “Fame” after netizens continually requested that the full song be released. The unofficial group, which formed during the casting audition segment, consisted of contestants Lee Michelle, Park Ji Min, Lee Seung Joo, and Lee Jung Mi. With their powerful and perfect harmonization, the four ladies received much praise from the three judges.

A representative of ‘K-Pop Star’ stated, “We appreciate the amount of love being shown to the released singles and will work harder to continue to offer and share the music. We hope viewers will continue to show their interest and support as we will be showing a more professional, high quality stage performances by the finalists.”

HaHa expresses longing for ‘Infinity Challenge’

With MBC‘s ‘Infinity Challenge‘ participating in the ongoing strike, singer HaHa revealed his longing for the show.

On March 28th, fellow ‘Infinity Challenge’ member Jung Joon Ha tweeted, “Employee Ha. I didn’t become the head for no reason. I’ll see you at the company.” HaHa replied, “When is the company opening?” to which Jung Joon Ha answered, “That you should ask Manager Yoo, whom you respect so much. Even still, don’t you meet at least once a week for your other business?”

The “company” that the two celebrities are referring to is MBC’s ‘Infinity Challenge’, in which they are currently doing an ‘Infinity Boss Special’. For the special, HaHa plays the role of Employee Ha, Jung Joon Ha plays Section Leader Jung, and Yoo Jae Suk plays Manager Yoo.

In addition, when Jung Joon Ha referred to HaHa’s ‘other business’, he was referring to SBS‘ ‘Running Man‘, which HaHa is currently participating in alongside Yoo Jae Suk.

Followers commented, “When will I be able to watch ‘Infinity Challenge’?” and “I miss ‘Infinity Challenge’ as much as HaHa [does].”

Seungri answered, “There were a lot of times. You know when there are young contestants. He is worried that they might get hurt, so he is very nice. JYJ’s Park Yoochun encourages his brother Yoohwan

JYJ member Park Yoochun tweeted for the first time since laying his father to rest.

On March 21st, the singer tweeted a message to his brother Yoohwan, “Dear Yoohwan who I love more than anyone else in the world.. Let’s try to live a great life. Always thankful for you and I love you.”

After their father’s funeral which took place on March 16th, brothers Yoochun and Yoohwan both immediately returned to work on the 17th.

Yoochun’s words of comfort towards his younger brother was his way of encouraging him and trying to overcome their difficult and heartbreaking situation together.

Their fans cheered on the two brothers saying, “Be strong!”, “Greatest brothers ever,” and “We’ll be cheering you on.”

In related news, Park Yoochun’s new drama SBS ‘Rooftop Prince‘ aired it’s first episode on March 21st.
