Girls’ Generation to Form Subunits?

Rumors of Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Jessica forming Girls’ Generation’s first-ever subunit has been circulating within the K-Pop industry. The rumors were first circulated by one music publishing company and have spread like wildfire across various internet communities. Initially, the company posted, “Our songwriter’s song has been selected for one of the songs in Girls’ Generation’s subunit group’s (Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Jessica) new album, so we’re busy arranging the piece” on its online message board.

The music publishing company is well known for having strong ties with SM Entertainment and has worked with Girls’ Generation, SHINee, DBSK, and Super Junior.

On April 12, a representative of SM Entertainment vaguely stated, “Details have not been finalized yet.”

Fans responded, “Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Jessica are the main vocals in Girls’ Generation. They’ll be amazing together,” “Oh, how exciting!” and more.

“Fashion King’s” Shin Se Kyung Takes Netizens’ Criticisms to Heart

Following the criticisms regarding her character’s high-end fashion, “Fashion King’sShin Se Kyung took the words to heart as she ditched her $700 Lewitt coat and $3K Balenciaga bag for $10 SPA tees.

During yesterday’s episode, Shin Se Kyung manages to get to New York to attend a fashion school where she nurtures her natural talent as a designer. In her scenes, the actress stuck to minimal, classic looks with t-shirts and jeans. She wore several different tees, layering with other pieces of clothing to keep the look simple (and “cheap).

Meanwhile, “Fashion King,” also starring Yoo Ah In, Lee Jae Hoon, and Girls’ Generation’s Yuri, regained its double digit ratings, recording 10.1% (AGB Nielsen) yesterday, a 0.5% increase from last week.

Infinite Shares Full Video of Encore Concert “Second Invasion – Evolution”

As reported earlier, Infinite live-streamed their encore concert, “Second Invasion – Evolution,” through their official YouTube channel on April 1. The live-stream included behind-the-scene footage as well as performances of the group, including five new tracks from their upcoming new album.

The concert was held for over two and a half hours, with more than 10,000 fans in attendance. Infinite performed some of their previous hit tracks, “Come Back Again,” “Tik Tok,” “Be Mine,” as well as their new track, “Tears,” among many others. They also gave cover performances of Park Ji Yoon’s “Grown Up Ceremony” and Sechs Kies’ “Couple.”

‘Light and Shadow’, ‘Fashion King’, and ‘Love Rain’ compete for viewer ratings

Last time, we reported that KBS‘s ‘Love Rain‘ which stars actor Jang Geun Suk and Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA scored a surprisingly low viewer rating of 5.8% on its first episode. Unfortunately, the second episode received even lower ratings.

On March 28th, AGB Nielsen announced that TV ratings for Love Rain’s second episode dropped to 5.2%, which is 0.6% lower than ratings for its first episode.

However, other competitors in the same time slot faired better. MBC‘s ‘Light and Shadow‘ drew in the most ratings of 23.2%, while SBS‘s ‘Fashion King‘ saw their ratings rise o.4% from its previous episode and scored 9.6%.

As mentioned before, the cause behind Love Rain’s low ratings is perceived to be its slow paced story line, and the old fashioned plot that doesn’t seem to be satisfying the demands of contemporary viewers despite the hype behind the drama. However, it is expected to gain much success once it airs over in Japan as Jang Geun Suk’s popularity seems to be higher there.

Girls’ Generation’s Yuri models as the new muse for ‘Mamonde’

Girls’ Generation‘s Yuri has been selected as the next endorsement muse for cosmetics brand ‘Mamonde‘!

Although Girls’ Generation has had a series of endorsement deals over the course of their career, this will be Yuri’s first solo cosmetic endorsement. She commented, “I’m glad to be a model of a brand that represents Korea. With ‘Mamonde’, I’ll be showing various different charms, so please look forward to that!”

Yuri will be working with labelmate and current ‘Mamonde’ model Super Junior‘s Siwon to promote the brand both domestically and internationally.

Her TV CF and various other online videos will begin airing next month!

Girls’ Generation’s YoonA shows off her doll-like beauty

Girl’s Generation‘s YoonA showed off her cute aegyo that so many fans all over the world have fallen in love with.

On March 27th, pictures of YoonA were uploaded onto Girl’s Generation’s official homepage under the title ’1 Second~ 2 Seconds~ 3 Seconds’, which seems to be making a reference to one of her scenes with Jang Geun Suk in her drama, ‘Love Rain’.

YoonA is seen making cute poses while using her fingers to count to three, causing fans to fall in love with her all over again.

In addition, YoonA posted an aegyo-filled comment along with the picture, stating, “This is YoonA. I was nervous because yesterday was the broadcast of the pilot episode of ‘Love Rain‘, but I’m so happy that I was able to watch it with all of the Sone. Please continue to look forward to ‘Love Rain’.”

Girls’ Generations’ Yuri Joins Super Junior’s Siwon for New Project

On March 30, Girls’ Generation’s Yuri was named the official model for Korean cosmetic brand, Mamonde, joining Super Junior’s Siwon as the company’s representative faces. Mamonde’s producer, Amore Pacific, said, “In order to add fresh energy into the brand, we’ve decided to pick Girls’ Generation’s Yuri as our main model.”

Amore Pacific reasoned, “Yuri’s exceptional talent and popularity transcending gender and all ages make her the perfect model to represent Mamonde, a brand that’s gaining popularity not just in Korea but also China.”

“By adding Yuri, who has a clean and energetic image, we believe Mamonde’s image as a global brand will only be enhanced, especially with the help of Choi Siwon, who has been working as our first official male model since last year,” it added.

Yuri released a statement saying, “I’m happy to be the main model for Korea’s main cosmetic brand that I’ve been a long-time fan of. Please look forward to the many charms I’ll come up with Mamonde.”

On March 28, Girls’ Generation’s Jessica updated fans with her latest photos on the group’s official website and Facebook page. The photos sparked more attention as they were released shortly after she was involved in yet another plastic surgery allegation.

In the first picture that was shared on Girls’ Generation’s official website, Jessica left a message that read, “Reporting my existence. Just saying I’m alive. Kekeke. From San Francisco.” In the picture, Jessica looks to have gained some weight, making fans wonder if it’s indeed the aftereffects of a recent plastic surgery.

On the same day, three more photos of Jessica were posted on the Girls’ Generation’s Facebook page. Wearing an ivory sweater and skinny jeans, Jessica is seen standing in the middle of San Francisco’s Union Square. In these set of photos, she looks rather slim and fit, confusing the fans that have previously pointed at her changed body shape.
